Pokemon Go Has Removed The Pokestop That Was On Jeffrey Epstein's Island

Niantic removed a Pokéstop called "Sun Dial" from Little Saint James, Jeffrey Epstein's private island, back in February 2026. That part checks out and is confirmed by Cursednews4u, Kotaku, GameSpot, Forbes, and Dexerto.

What is going around right now with a "VIRAL" label on it is that same story, seven months old, dressed up as breaking news.

Imagine risking a permanent account ban to spoof your GPS to the most infamous island on the planet, and all you get from the spin is two Nanab berries and a 2km egg.

The Pokéstop got added sometime between 2020 and 2021, pulled into Pokémon Go's map data from Niantic's older game Ingress, where someone had submitted the island's large sundial as a real world landmark. Nobody caught it. It sat there for about five years, reachable by anyone willing to fake their GPS location, on a private island that requires a boat or plane to actually visit.

It got noticed after the Department of Justice released close to three million pages of Epstein documents on January 30, 2026. Within days, Reddit users digging through the coverage found the stop, r/TheSilphRoad turned tracking it into a small group project, and people started spoofing their location just to spin it. Niantic, owned by Scopely since a $3.5 billion deal in 2025, quietly deleted the Pokéstop around February 9 and only confirmed it happened when GamingBible asked. No statement, no explanation for how a landmark with zero public access got approved as a location in the first place.

Real Pokéstop, real island, real removal, wrong date. Whoever posted it as new either didn't check when it happened or is betting you won't either.

One more thing from the same document release: emails reportedly show Epstein recommending Pokémon Go to a member of Qatar's royal family about a week after the game launched in 2016, and separate messages connect him to conversations about Activision Blizzard's stock, including exchanges with former CEO Bobby Kotick. Bill Gates and Build A Rocket Boy founder Leslie Benzies also turn up somewhere in the files. Being named in a released document is not evidence of anything on its own, and none of them have been shown to have known about or been involved in Epstein's crimes.
